5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS!, September 22, 2010

This review is from: Dynaflex Platinum Powerball (Sports)
I love my platinum powerball
This works so well for my carpal tunnel.
I bought it a couple months ago and haven't had any problems.
It's a bummer for the guy in south america, but i guess it evens out, if i ordered something from south america, it'd cost me an arm and a leg to get it also, so i don't really think his review has anything to do with the actual product, but more of a rant in regards to shipping.
I found my product easy to use and fun too!
the only bad thing i'd have to say is that my family keeps stealing it!!
:]
But now i know what to get everyone for christmas!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Love it and Hate it at the same time, November 9, 2011

This review is from: Dynaflex Platinum Powerball (Sports)
First of all, I love using this product. It works, it's a great a warm up before working out, it turned my grip and wrists from weak to strong in under a month by using it for a half hour to an hour a day. It feels like it triggers every muscle fiber in the entire forearm, which many other wrist and forearm exercises do not do. All my friends loved it and were amazed by the concept of it. I will buy this product over and over no matter how many times it breaks.

All praise aside, the company clearly designs this product to be as durable as glass. It's called planned obscolescence - they make it poor so it will eventually break and you have to buy another. Drop it once, it's done. I've never used the $100 steel or iron ones, but i'm guessing they are higher quality, and i will invest in one next time.

If you buy this or the extremely low quality pro model, invest in a bouncy castle or a fully padded separate room in your house because you'll need one to protect it... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Ball excellent, but find without the starter, February 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Dynaflex Platinum Powerball (Sports)
Excellent product. After initially purchasing the dynaflex ball with only 25 lbs of resistance, I immediately wanted something that would be a step more challenging. This powerball has fit that bill. As an avid weightlifter/bodybuilder, I find that my weak point unfortunately is my grip. This being said, just like any other of my gym rat brethren, I isolated the trouble spot and attacked it full force. With the aid of this ball, I have found that my grip strength has increased about 10 - 15 percent in about a month and a half. I would enthusiastically endorse this product.
The only thing I have to say that isn't singing its praises is the automatic starter. When I first started I found the dynaflex hard to start without some aid, but after continued use, just a flick of the thumb and proper wrist movement is by far sufficient. I'm not saying that the starter does not work, quite the contrary, it works great. You just don't need it after a while. If you can find the... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars AHHHHH! The Burn!!!, May 6, 2012
This review is from: Exercise & Fitness: Powerball Blue Pro 250 Hz - Blue Exercise Ball Hand Exerciser (Misc.)
I bought this after I read about it in a guitarist's blog. After a quick bit of research I found out that NSD is making the best handheld gyros and bought the most basic power ball, the PB-188, or something close to that. I play a lot of upright bass and thought I was getting tendonitis. my forearms were always sore and I couldn't practice 'til the ibuprofen kicked in. Anyway, I've had this ball about a week, and I use it all the time. It is difficult to not overuse this ball, meaning I want to play with it and use it all the time.

My forearms already feel better. I can tell. This thing will make your arms burn in a good way in under a minute. You know you just worked out when you put it down.

Also, I've been bringing it everywhere I go and passing it to everybody I see. Most people are really surprised by how much force the powerball generates, and it's fun to pass somebody this little ball that squirms around in your hand.

Buy one. then... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars not quite sure yet, December 15, 2012

It works as it should, but it seems like the internal friction is a bit excessive because the RPM drops faster than I would expect. Some grinding noises in addition to the standard gyro-sound adds more weight to my suspicion of not too well-tuned bearings.

However, currently being away from home for 3 months, I have not tested it out thoroughly yet.
More to come on this.

This review is from: Exercise & Fitness: Powerball Blue Pro 250 Hz - Blue Exercise Ball Hand Exerciser (Misc.)
Initallly the power ball was a lot of fun to master the motion to keeping it going and then it began to make a grinding or scraping noise. We never dropped it but it wore out fast.
